“As I look at Jesus’s ministry, I see Him ministering to the poor, the hungry, the sick and often, the people who are looked down upon by society. Jesus said to His disciples in Matthew 25:40, “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of mine, even the least of them [hungry, thirsty, stranger, in need of clothing, sick or in prison—vv. 25:35-39], you did it for me.” Restoration Urban Ministries strives to model Jesus’s ministry: He came to restore lives spiritually, and He often did it through meeting physical needs. I have seen the power of the Gospel in the lives of people who have been restored. I am excited to be a part of R.U.M.’s Board, helping our staff support families and individuals who are willing to work toward restored wholeness, both physically and spiritually.
