After coming from Nigeria 10 years ago, Rebekah now finds herself trying to raise her two children without her husband, without a house, without a work visa, and without a job. Mercifully, she says, Restoration Urban Ministries was there for them.
A nurse by training, she longs to give back: to be a nurse practitioner for children and adults. For her children, bright, eager seven- and nine-year old students who dream of being doctors, she longs for the stability they need for a good education and a solid future.
As she waits and works for a solution to her problem, Rebekah just can’t help but give back using her training: she regularly helps other Restoration residents by checking their blood pressure and performing well-being checks.
“Restoration has given me the help I need, helping me stay of sound mind and strong in my faith,” says the stoic 40 year old. “My time here has brought me closer to God.”
