Ervin is a former Oklahoma City firefighter. He has a Bacherlors Degree in Divinity and has been in ministry for 34+ years. At God’s direction Restoration Urban Ministries was started in 1993. Restoration has international ministries and has held crusades in 4 countries. He has planted 4 churches in addition to the one at 1213 Parkland Court in Champaign, IL.
Ervin and his wife of 40+ years have 5 boys, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He loves spending time at home with his family.
Sister Marilyn has been by Ervin’s side for the founding and growth of Restoration. She grew up as one of 14 children and is a fraternal twin. In addition to the 5 boys they have raised, they have also served as foster parents to over 25 children in their home. She ran a daycare in their home for ten years.
She joined the staff at RUM in 2016 as a Case Manager. She can be called on to preach or share a devotion, she loves ministering to God’s people.
Tammy teaches Computer Applications at Parkland College. She has served in different capacities at RUM for the past 10 years. Tammy attends New Horizons Methodist church.
Tammy is married to Mark Kesler and they have two grown children. Her favorite things to do are reading and spending time with family.
Pastor Leland Collins was ordained at Restoration Urban Ministries and served for a time as the Assistant Director and Assistant Pastor at Restoration Urban Ministries. Pastor Leland has three sons, one daughter, and five grandchildren. He is engaged to a beautiful woman with three children.
He is currently serving as the Assistant Pastor at Jesus is the Gate Church in Springfield, Illinois. Pastor Leland states he is “waiting on God for my next assignment.”
Jeff Wampler is a Managing Partner at the law firm of Erwin, Martinkus & Cole in Champaign, Illinois. He is a graduate from Indiana University and Valparaiso University of Law School.
Mr. Wampler concentrates his practice of law in the area of negotiations, business counseling and commercial real estate.
Mr. Wampler married his junior high-school girlfriend, Shari in 1984. Shari and Jeff have three children, Sam – 22, Molly – 25, and Matt – 27.
Pastor Ernest Jones currently serves as the Assistant Pastor and Recovery Director at Restoration Urban Ministries.
For 21 years, Pastor Jones served as Pastor of Champaign Christian Center in Champaign, IL, before aligning with Restoration Church.
He focuses on teaching the rudiments of Faith as a lifestyle with clarity and simplicity. Standing on the Hebrews 11:6 principles, he conveys the importance of pleasing God in all our doing and considers Restoration Church the perfect vehicle to trumpet that message.
Joyce Baldwin is a retired Computer Science instructor from Parkland College where she continues to teach technology classes part time.
Joyce and her husband Chuck are very active in community service and church ministry activities. They have been involved with Restoration Urban Ministries for several years as volunteers and small group leaders.

Ruth Esry is retired from the Rantoul City Schools having served as an elementary school principal. She is the Volunteer coordinator of “Homework Hangout’–after-school tutoring program for elementary-age children whose parents reside at Restoration Urban Ministry. Ruth’s husband Lloyd is a grain farmer near St. Joseph, Illinois. They are parents of two grown children and grandparents of one grandson.
Robert Carringer, born Knoxville, TN, age a secret, grew up there happily (Church, School, antics galore–in 6th grade sent to spend a day in first grade), attended U Tennessee, went North for advanced degree, hired full time by University of Illinois (1968 to 2003 retirement), have enjoyed wonderful life since at our place in the country Northwest of Seymour. Proud participant at RUM for 10 years. Wife Sonia born Sonia Raysor in Downingtown PA, her age a DEEP secret. We met in school in Indiana, married 1968, she also worked for UI in the Campus Honors Program (1972 to 2006 retirement) and has since become a professional dog breeder (Shetland Sheepdogs)). Her Russian Mother, 98, lives with us and is our model for our own life duration hopes.
